I really went back and forth in my mind when deciding to post this or not..I am a pretty open person, and sometimes I feel like I put too much of my personal life out there with people I don't know by sharing pictures, my hopes and dreams and just the general things that happen in my life.
But my family and I could really use your thoughts and prayers in the next couple of weeks. My sister who some of who know is expecting her third baby (another girl) was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. Here is a bit taken from the American Heart Organization...
"Primary
or unexplained pulmonary hypertension (PPH) is a rare lung disorder in
which the blood pressure in the pulmonary artery rises far above normal
levels for no apparent reason. The pulmonary artery is a blood vessel
carrying oxygen-poor blood from the right ventricle (one of the heart's
pumping chambers) to the lungs. In the lungs, the blood picks up
oxygen, then flows to the heart's left side, where the left ventricle
pumps it to the rest of the body through the aorta."
You can read more here American Heart Org.
She has around four and half weeks to go in her pregnancy. I would really truly appreciate any thoughts and prayers during the next four weeks. She is physically and mentally drained, but trying to take it easy and remain positive! Thanks...:)
So sorry to hear this Amber. I know what you mean about putting things out there....but hopefully it helps just putting your thoughts into words. Is her condition a pregnancy related thing or is it totally unrelated?

They believe that it is most likely unrelated to her pregnancy. They are going to run more test but they have to wait until the baby is born to do so...

Oh Amber, I think we all assess how much we share.. but by putting it out there you have a whole new network of support (kinda hard to ask your family to think about the impact on you when you sister is the one who is sick).. but i am certainly feeling for you.. as well as your sister and family. It is a tough time! Thank goodness we live in this age of medicine. Hoping that this provides an opportunity for alot of prayer and support and kind wishes.

I'm with the others above. Understand your hesitation about posting, but, again, even if it's through email, blog, whatever, you've got people who care and send their prayers for you and your family right now.

Amber-take heart there are some treatments out there to help with the symptoms of Pulmonary Hypertension(in my other life I'm a cardiac ICU nurse). Your SIL will have struggles ahead but it is not a death sentence-with good management things she will be able to enjoy her newborn. My thoughts and best wishes are winging your way!

My thoughts and prayers are with you, your sister and your entire family during this difficult time. I am so sorry Amber. I hope and pray that she can be one of the ones that can easily be maintained and live a long and fulfilling life...being the wonderful mother that she MUST be. ;) she is after all your sister!

The `loner' may be respected, but he is always resented by his colleagues,
for he seems to be passing a critical judgment on them, when he may be
simply making a limiting statement about himself.
